Families demand report on murder of two night guards in Kericho

The families of Joseph Lang’at and Charles Kipkorir Rotich, the two night guards who were brutally murdered in November 2024 while on duty at Roret Farmers Cooperative Society, are demanding answers regarding the stalled investigation into the killings.

Through their lawyer, Advocate Bernard Kipkoech Ngetich, the families have written to the authorities seeking a comprehensive report on the status of the case.

The double murder, which occurred on the night of November 19, 2024, was reported at Roret Police Station under Occurrence Book (OB) Number 02/19/11/2024.

Despite several follow-up efforts, including formal letters to the Inspector General of Police and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions—Advocate Ngetich says no feedback or updates have been provided to the families.

In his most recent correspondence, Ngetich issued a 14-day ultimatum to the relevant authorities, urging them to release a detailed investigation report.

He cited “prolonged delay and lack of communication” as reasons for the families’ growing concern and frustration.

The families now hope that renewed public attention will prompt action and deliver long-overdue justice for their loved ones.
