A multi-agency team led by Police in Embu North have recovered a large consignment of stolen toothpaste worth over KSh5.4 million.

The officers recovered Colgate products,goods that had been stolen during a violent carjacking in Gathoge area, Kirinyaga County.

On the fateful day, a company driver was transporting the products when he was attacked by five armed suspects.

Acting on a tip-off, the officers raided the Mutunduri area and recovered hundreds of boxes of toothpaste, toothbrushes, detergents, and fabric softeners. Two vehicles, believed to have been used to transport the goods, were impounded.

Five suspects are currently in custody awaiting arraignment.
