The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Leagues and Competitions Committee has delivered a series of rulings addressing disputes and disciplinary issues from the FKF Division One League and the FKF Women National Super League.
Gene Queens FC penalized for player impersonation
In a Women National Super League fixture (match no. 112) between Eldoret Falcons FC and Gene Queens FC, Gene Queens were found guilty of fielding an ineligible player.
Investigations revealed Irene Yego, registered with McMillan Queens FC, impersonated Evalyne Ayieta of Gene Queens using a falsified player license.
The match was awarded to Eldoret Falcons FC 2-0, and Yego received a one-year suspension for impersonation and use of an altered player card.
Marafiki FC sanctioned for eligibility violations
Marafiki FC faced penalties in two separate Division One incidents. Against Bumbani FC, they fielded Samuel Sichenje Wattang’a under a misleading registration, despite his existing registration with Bungoma Stars FC and no valid transfer.
The match was awarded to Bumbani FC (2-0), and Wattang’a was suspended for 365 days. In another match against Ruiru Hot Stars FC, Marafiki included suspended player Justin Okurumi among substitutes. The match was awarded to Ruiru Hot Stars FC (2-0).
Dynamo FC held liable for match abandonment
In Division One match no. 183, Dynamo FC players assaulted the referee, leading to match abandonment in the 82nd minute. The match was awarded to Kenya Navy FC (2-0), and three Dynamo players were suspended for the rest of the season. Additionally, Kenya Navy FC was barred from using NYS Grounds for the remainder of the season due to inadequate security.
GFE 105 FC sanctioned for fixture irregularities
A Division One fixture between GFE 105 FC and Zoo FC was ordered to be replayed after venue confusion due to stadium renovations. In a separate incident, GFE 105 FC forfeited a match to Vegpro FC after arriving late, resulting in a 2-0 award to Vegpro.
These rulings underscore FKF’s commitment to upholding fair play and integrity across its competitions.
