Ethiopian authorities have arrested four suspects behind the killing of four Kenyan fishermen in Todonyang, Turkana North earlier this week.
Reports indicate that the four suspects were arrested on Friday, May 16, a few hours after police had identified them and proceeded to arrest their fathers, in a strategic move to have them surrender to authorities.
The Dassanech security team on the Ethiopian side of the Kenya-Ethiopia Boarder identified the suspects as; Nyechu Achobe, Nabotee Ara, Kelete Atete, and Armiyat Lochoronyang.

They believe that the four were part of an Ethiopian militia that ambushed and killed the Kenyan fishermen on Thursday, May 15 at around 4 am, when they were casting their nets along Lake Turkana.
“The Dassanech administration remains committed to ensuring justice and maintaining peace in the region,” the Dassanech security team says.

In February this year, 20 Kenyan fishermen were killed by suspected militia from Ethiopia in the same area.
