Kenyan artist and entrepreneur Akothee has fired back at social media users who questioned her after she shared photos of herself playing golf alongside a white male companion.
In a strongly worded Facebook caption, the outspoken mother of five accused critics of rushing to conclusions and spreading negativity.
“Kenyans have selective amnesia. Mkiniona na mzungu mnatetemeka these are golfers please, not couples.” She wrote, dismissing claims that the man in the photos was a romantic partner.

“Game ya wazungu nilimaliza nataka Mogaka,” insinuating that she’s now looking for a Kisii.
Akothee went further to call out what she described as online harassment, warning that she would not tolerate defamatory posts.
“You have a degree in smearing people with mud. If I find this photo on your wall with a useless caption, I will take action against you.”
She added that 2026 would be the year she ‘sanitizes’ the streets, urging netizens to ‘grow up’ and be more respectful in their comments.
The singer, who often refers to herself as ‘the president of single mothers,’ is a mother of five—three girls and two boys of mixed heritage.

In December 2025, she publicly announced that she was single and not dating, cautioning men against approaching her with empty pockets.
Akothee’s personal life has frequently attracted public attention.
On April 10th 2023, she went viral after hosting a lavish, celebrity-studded wedding that dominated headlines and social media headlines.
However, the marriage was short-lived, and she later revealed that she parted ways with her then-husband, Omosh, citing mental health challenges as the reason for separation.
Despite the constant spotlight, Akothee remains unapologetically vocal about her boundaries and independence.
“You can’t be broke, stupid and bitter at the same time. Choose a struggle we shall fix one of the above.” Akothee added on her post, a line that quickly gained traction among her followers.
