Gor Mahia Football Club has made a shocking announcement about a comprehensive overhaul of its technical department, confirming the mutual separation with its entire technical bench, including team security, effective July 2, 2025.
The move comes after a deeply disappointing 2024/25 FKF Premier League campaign for the 21-time champions.
For the first time since 2016, the football giants concluded a season without a single trophy, culminating in Kenya Police Football Club clinching the league title and a stinging loss to Nairobi United.
This unprecedented barren run has understandably infuriated K’Ogalo’s vast and loyal fanbase, with frustrations spilling onto social media, particularly concerning interim head coach Zico, who took over from Sinisa Mihic in May.
The clubs decision, communicated via an official statement signed by Chairman Ambrose Rachier, follows an extensive internal review, forming a pivotal part of the club’s broader restructuring strategy for the upcoming 2025/26 season.
Despite the overhaul, the club emphasized that the separation was amicable, expressing sincere gratitude to the outgoing staff for their commitment and professionalism.
“We extend our sincere gratitude to the individuals involved for their commitment, professionalism, and service to the Club during their tenure,” the statement read, quoting Rachier.
According to the statement Gor Mahia’s leadership views this as a critical step towards building a solid foundation for competitive excellence.
“As we begin a new chapter, Gor Mahia FC remains committed to building a solid foundation that will support competitive excellence both on and off the pitch,” Rachier affirmed.
