The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) has officially opened the 2025-2026 application portal for both Undergraduate and TVET loans and scholarships.
The announcement is good news to students who rely on HELB funding for their higher learning, offering them renewed hope and support in their pursuit of education.
HELB has announced that applications are open for first-time applicants and for continuing students who depend on the HELB loan.
The financial aid is designed to help students pay their tuition fees, preventing them from being locked out of school.
For the First timers, they are required to submit their application through the HELB portal.
On the other hand, the continuing students are urged to dial *642# or use HELB-APP.
The Student-Centered Funding Model launch of HELB this year comes with a slogan ‘Leaving no student behind’, ensures all students are provided with sustainable finance while pursuing Higher Education through mobilization & prudent management of resources.
The message “Tumefungua Portal Sasa” is prominently featured in the official HELB notice, signalling the urgency for students to act quickly and submit their applications within the required timeframe.
Additionally, HELB has emphasised inclusivity by using the tagline “Come Vile Uko, Tutakusort!”.
Students are urged to apply by 31st August 2025.
