Government of Kenya websites hacked in major cyberattack

Several Government of Kenya websites linked to Ministries and State agencies, including Health, Education, Labour, Environment, ICT, Tourism, State House, and Interior, have been hacked.

The cyberattack on Monday November 17, 2025 in the morning left the websites inaccessible, with attackers defacing pages by altering their appearance.

Online users were seeing strange messages such as access denied by PCP, we will rise again, white power worldwide, and Heil Hitler.

The attacks rendered key online services unavailable, frustrating users who rely on government websites for services.

At the same time, several websites belonging to state departments were also inaccessible, with the Immigration Department, the Directorate of Public-Private Partnerships, and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) among those affected.

Nairobi County websites were also affected by the hackers.

Meanwhile, the Government and affected Ministries are yet to release official communication about the cyber attacks.

On the other hand, no individual or company has claimed responsibility for the hacking of the government websites.
