Health CS Duale urges public to report suspicious SHA activities

Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has called on Kenyans to report any suspicious activities related to the Social Health Authority (SHA).

Speaking during a public engagement at Voi Stadium in Taita Taveta County, CS Duale said Kenyans can report by dialing the toll-free number *147#.

Duale emphasized the importance of public participation in protecting the integrity of Kenya’s health system. He said the government is committed to rooting out fraud, malpractice, and misuse of SHA resources.

“We are urging every Kenyan to take part in safeguarding the Social Health Authority by reporting any signs of abuse or misconduct. Dial *147#; it’s toll-free and confidential,” said Duale.

The CS noted that the SHA is central to Kenya’s healthcare reforms, and any compromise in its operations risks undermining public trust and access to quality services.

In addition to the SHA appeal, CS Duale acknowledged over 1,300 Community Health Promoters (CHPs) in Taita Taveta County for their role in household-level care and updated the public on available SHA packages and benefits.
