Health PS Mary Muthoni urges Kenyans to remain calm as Ebola cases rise to 8

Public Health Principal Secretary Mary Muthoni has reassured Kenyans that there is no cause for alarm following an increase in Ebola cases, saying the government is taking measures to contain the outbreak and prevent further transmission.

Speaking on Sunday during a church service at Jesus Winner Ministry along Thika Road, Muthoni said the government was closely managing the situation and urged Kenyans to remain vigilant while continuing with their daily activities.

Kenya has so far recorded eight Ebola cases, most of them involving members of the family of the first patient who died after returning to the country from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

The PS encouraged the public to observe necessary health precautions without disrupting normal routines, including attending church services and other social gatherings.

Her sentiments were echoed by Bishop Edward Mwai who urged the congregation to remain vigilant and seek divine intervention as the country deals with the outbreak.

Muthoni also called on Kenyans to maintain peace and unity as the country prepares for the 2027 General Election, urging citizens to embrace peaceful coexistence throughout the political period.
