“I found out about my 5th child from a third party,” Oga Obinna opens up

Media personality Oga Obinna has laid bare his personal struggles and lessons on fatherhood, revealing how he became a father of five with four baby mamas, in addition to adopting nine children.

Speaking in a candid podcast interview, the comedian admitted that while he loves children deeply, he never actually planned for any of his biological kids.

“Nobody plans to have a baby mama. Some do, but I didn’t,” Obinna confessed.

“When I got my first child, I wasn’t ready. My son didn’t find a good life. Things were terrible. I was living in a KSh 4,000 house, and even paying rent was difficult.

I had to move to a cheaper house of KSh 3,000, but it was still hard to manage. Eventually, I took my things to my friends and went back home to shagz,” he added.

His journey as a father has been far from straightforward. Obinna narrated how his second child came about with an ex.

“My second baby mama and I were not together when she got pregnant. She was my ex. It just happened—a shoulder to lean on,” he said.

With his third baby mama, Obinna revealed that they had tried to build a home together but later separated.

“We moved in together but broke up for a while. In the process of co-parenting, we got another child, Lola. After that, we decided to try and make it work, we stayed together for five years. But eventually, I left again—things just didn’t work out.”

The comedian also opened up about the shocking circumstances surrounding his fifth-born.

“You meet someone and agree you don’t want kids now, so you opt for family planning. With that, I trust you. What I didn’t know is that she went behind my back, removed it, and didn’t tell me.

She got pregnant, delivered, and still didn’t tell me. I only found out when the child was like three or four months old—from a third party,” Obinna revealed.

“I called her, thinking maybe she had someone else, because by the time she was pregnant, we were not together. I just wanted to confirm and congratulate her. Then she told me the child was mine. I asked, ‘Why didn’t you tell me?’ She said she knew I didn’t want a kid.

We later agreed to do a DNA test, and she was okay with it. But the day my daughter was being born in Eldoret, I was busy hosting a homecoming party for my friend Dem Wa Facebook. Nobody told me. I never knew.”

On one of his instagram posts, which was a conversation between his said baby mama and him, Obinna captioned ;

” When I found out, she is soo KIUUuuuuuuTE tho’. ANOTHER BLESSING, I have genes for girls, now I just want 2 boyz halafu tufunge kazi but tupange yawa.”

Reflecting on his experiences, Obinna admitted that much of his situation was a result of poor choices.

“I never planned for any of my kids, but I have myself to blame. I was reckless, I trusted people too much, and I didn’t take care of myself,” he said.

Despite the challenges, Obinna said his love for children remains unmatched.

“I have five biological kids, and I’ve also adopted nine more. I love kids.”

He also offered advice to young people planning to have families:“The decision of having a child is not for the lady alone. She should be ready financially and mentally, just in case of anything, so that she can take care of the child. For men, all we do is donate a seed,” Obinna said.

He further urged couples to take medical precautions before conceiving. “Before you get a kid with someone, kindly go get checked. Know if your bodies match in terms of rhesus factor and other health concerns,” he advised.
