Size 8 Reborn, one of Kenya’s most recognised gospel artists, has a story that blends struggle, perseverance, and faith.
Born of Christian parents, her early life was marked by financial challenges that made it difficult for her to access higher education. Despite these hardships, her determination to succeed never wavered.
She was a bright student, thus securing admission at State House Girls, and in form 3 she secured a sponsorship to Hillcrest Group of Schools.
After completing high school, university fees was beyond her parents’ means, therefore she faced tough choices that would shape her path.
Not to forget that during this period, her brothers were studying at Makerere University in Uganda, and her father decided to prioritise supporting them, leaving her to navigate her own way forward.
“I did not start music because I wanted to,” she says. “I started because there was no other option.” To survive, Size 8 Reborn turned to secular music.
Her first song, titled Size 8, marked the start of her professional career and eventually became the name she carried into stardom.
Over time, she transitioned from secular music to gospel, embracing her faith and using her talent to inspire others.
Today, she is widely known as SIZE 8 Reborn, symbolising her transformation and renewed dedication to gospel music.
Throughout her career, she has used her platform to encourage young people to stay focused on their studies, maintain good influences, and believe in their potential despite difficult circumstances.
In public addresses, she emphasises resilience, hard work, and the importance of staying true to one’s faith.
