Broadcasting and Telecommunications Principal Secretary Stephen Isaboke on Sunday, August 23 joined Kisii Governor Simba Arati during the launch of the Etaya Tournament 2026 at Masakwe Comprehensive School in Kitutu Chache North Constituency.
PS Isaboke urged the youth to nurture their talents in sports, saying that sporting platforms provide an opportunity for professional career growth and other income-generating opportunities that will transform lives and open pathways to a brighter future.
He added that the government is investing in sports infrastructure and digital opportunities to ensure that young people, including those at the grassroots, can discover, develop and monetize their talents.
The tournament will provide a platform to identify, nurture and promote talent, empower communities, strengthen cohesion and encourage young people to make constructive use of their talents and time.
With football, athletics, music and tug-of-war, the tournament will progress from the grassroots to the county finals in December.
“I commend Governor Arati for this initiative and for investing in opportunities that give the people of Kisii a platform to showcase their talent,” PS Isaboke said.
