The body of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has just arrived at the Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi, ready for the State funeral service.
The service was supposed to start at 9 am, but Raila’s body was first laid in state for Members of Parliament, dignitaries and family members to also view it and pay their last respect.

The State funeral service is expected to take two hours, after which members of the public will be accorded the opportunity to view the body.
“There will be a public viewing of the remains of Raila after that State event. The opportunity to view the body will be stretched from around 12 noon to as far as possible to give the highest number of mourners an opportunity to pay their last respect,” Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, who is also the co-chairperson of the Committee on the State Funeral of Raila Odinga, said in a press conference on Thursday, October 16 evening.
