Thousands of mourners flocked the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on Thursday, October 16 morning during the arrival if the body of the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
The Kenyans overwhelmed security personnel and broke through the barriers to have a glimpse of the coffin bearing Raila’s remains. The mourners and bodaboda operators also gained entry into restricted areas at the airport, others scaling perimeter walls while chanting Raila’s name.
Nonetheless, the crowd was peaceful, with security agencies able to gain control of the situation later on. The procession is now along Mombasa Road, on the way to Lee Funeral Home.
The crowd is escorting the body being carried on a military gun carrier.
