The Wiper Patriotic Front has responded to the ODM Party, after the latter accused the former’s party leader Kalonzo Musyoka of spreading false and malicious information about the health of former Prime Minister and ODM Party Leader Raila Odinga.

In a statement on Sunday, October 5, Wiper Secretary-General Shakila Abdalla said that ODM Party linking Kalonzo — a person who habours no ill will whatsoever toward Raila — to the ‘misinformation’ circulating on social media platforms was an act of desperation from a “once respected” movement that has lost both its moral compass and political relevance.

Shakila says that Kalonzo and Raila share a long public history of cooperation and mutual respect, and that any claims that Kalonzo wishes harm upon Raila is not only malicious but also reckless, and utterly false.

“ODM’s attempt to drag Kalonzo Musyoka into its intenal confusion is a weak distraction from the cracks splitting the so called Broad Based Government they now defend so blindly,” Shakila said.

Wiper also slammed ODM for insinuating that Kalonzo was among those politicians who decampaigned Raila in his bid for the Chairmanship of the African Union Commissioon.

“ODM must also be reminded that Mr. Odinga’s failed bid for the African Union Commission Chairmanship was not the doing or undoing of Kalonzo Musyoka. His loss stemmed from the diplomatic blunders and mishandling by the very government he is now in bed with, a government that lacked both strategy and credibility on the continental stage. His defeat was not a shock, but rather a consistent trend that mirrors the political miscalculations of those now attempting to rewrite history.”

Wiper maintained that ODM Party betrayed Kenyans by supporting President William Ruto-led government, which it accuses of committing numerous atrocities.

“ODMs latest statement is not about Raila’s health. It is about their guilt, their fear and their desperate attempt to justify a political marriage stinking of despotism.”

No one and absolutely no one will drag Kalonzo Musyoka into their self inflicted political decay. Kalonzo Musyoka remains committed to justice truth, and a Kenya that values life and liberty over expediency, money and power.”
