KCSE candidate arrested with stolen goods in Nyakach

A Form Four student from Ramula Mixed Day Secondary School was arrested on Monday November 3, 2025 after police and local administrators recovered stolen household items and a toy gun from two houses in Siany Sub-location, South Nyakach, Kisumu County.

According to local authorities, the recovery followed a report made by former Assistant Chief Antony Guda Okoyo, who informed officials that he had seen suspected stolen property in his son’s house. He suspected a relative, a young orphan who has been living in the house, of being behind the theft.

Acting on the tip off, Assistant County Commissioner (ACC) Charles Orina, Chief Zablon Owiti, and Assistant Chief Eusevius Juma, together with the OCS and his team, launched an operation that led to the recovery of the items.

“After recovering the first batch of items, we received further information that led us to another house belonging to the suspect’s friend, where additional stolen goods and a toy gun were found,” said one of the administrators.

The suspect was later arrested with the help of the Principal of Ramula Mixed Day Secondary School and reportedly confessed to stealing the goods from Kabete C. School and a shop in Kajimbo Sub location.

Authorities said the student would be allowed to continue sitting for his national examinations from the Sub-County Headquarters as investigations continue.

Those present during the operation included ACC Charles Orina, Assistant Chiefs Eusevius Juma and Zablon Owiti, officers from the local police station, and village elders.
