Nairobi United, Bandari eye return to winning ways in FKF Premier League clash

Nairobi United will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing defeat when they host Bandari FC at Dandora Stadium on Tuesday afternoon in a rescheduled FKF Premier League fixture. Kick-off is set for 3 p.m.

The match, initially slated for October, was postponed as Nairobi United (popularly known as Naibois) were engaged in CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round action.

They have since made history by qualifying for the group stage, where they will face Wydad AC (Morocco), Azam FC (Tanzania), and AS Maniema Union (DR Congo).

Both sides come into the clash seeking redemption after disappointing outings over the weekend. Bandari were held to a goalless draw by Mara Sugar FC in Awendo, while Nairobi United suffered their heaviest defeat of the season a 3–0 loss to Sofapaka FC.

Nairobi United have won two and lost two of their four league games so far, scoring just three goals all in their victories against Mara Sugar and Kakamega Homeboyz.

Their attacking struggles have been compounded by the absence of forward Frank Ouya, who remains sidelined with injury. The team currently sits 14th in the standings with six points.

Bandari, under newly appointed Moroccan coach Mohamed Borji, have also endured a slow start. The Dockers have managed just one win in five games, scoring three goals all in their triumph over Murang’a Seal and failing to find the net in their other four fixtures. They sit 12th, also on six points.

Both teams have shown defensive resilience but will need sharper finishing to claim maximum points in what will be their first-ever league meeting.

With both sides struggling for goals, Tuesday’s contest promises to be a tactical battle and a vital chance to reignite their domestic campaigns.
