ODM Suba North branch has began engaging the fisher fork community in voter registration ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Due to the frequent movements from one beach to another, a good number at the lake shores do not have IDs, ranking the constituency among the lowest in the county in terms of the exercise.
As the ODM Party continues to welcome new members to the party, Suba North branch also reaped after Homa Bay UDA Secretary , Silas Jakakimba, who ditched the ruling party to join ODM.
Jakakimba rose from being a fisherman in Suba to being the longest serving aide to the late Raila Odinga and later joined William Ruto’s UDA. Therefore, he says he’ll do all it takes to sensitize the community to be prepared with voter cards ahead of the elections to elect their leaders.
He has also hinted on running for Suba South MP against the incumbent Millie Odhiambo.
