The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced the closure of the Marigat-Loruk (B17) Road due to flooding.
The Authority says decision to close the vital road was arrived due to its flooding from the fast-rising water levels of Lake Baringo.
An alternative route has been graded as a diversion at Km 29+200 on Marigat-Loruk (B17) Road that will intersect on Loruk-Chemalingot at Km 2+400.
KeNHA is cautioning road users against any attempts to use the flooded section of the road for safety purposes.
“We will continue to monitor the situation and advise when the water levels recede. The Authority remains committed to ensure seamless connectivity to facilitate safe passage of goods and services for economic prosperity,” KeNHA says.
