Kenya Cup Matchday 2: KU Blak Blad vs. Impala headlines an Action-Packed Weekend

The second matchday of the 2024/2025 Kenya Cup season promises thrilling rugby action, with Kenyatta University’s Blak Blad, now popularly called Wan Yudhee, gearing up for an electrifying clash against Impala RFC. The highly anticipated match will kick off at 3:00 PM at the iconic Blad Bin.

Adding to the excitement, Kabras Sugar and KCB Rugby, two rugby heavyweights, begin their tours of the season with Kabras heading to Seacrest Grounds, Diani, to face South Coast Pirates, while KCB takes on Kisumu RFC at Kisumu Polytechnic.

Meanwhile, Nakuru RFC will host Kenya Harlequins at the famed Suguta Valley (Nakuru Athletics Club) in what promises to be a fiercely contested encounter. At the same time, long-standing rivals Mwamba RFC and Nondescripts RFC are set to reignite their historic rivalry at Racecourse Grounds. Over at Strathmore University, Madaraka, Strathmore Leos will lock horns with the Menengai Oilers.

Kenya Cup Women’s Action

The women’s division also promises exhilarating matchups. Newcomers Kenya Harlequins Women will make their season debut against Nakuru RFC Women at Nakuru Athletics Club. Meanwhile, NYS Ladies host Impala Women at NYS Headquarters, while Maseno University Women clash with Northern Suburbs at Maseno University Grounds.

Championship Matchday 3: A Weekend of Varsity Rivalries

Matchday 3 of the Championship League will showcase three highly anticipated varsity derbies. The Catholic Monks face off against Mean Machine at Catholic University, Karen, while the TUM Marines take on Zetech Oaks in a thrilling coastal clash. Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) will host the UoE Trojans at their home turf in Kakamega.

Other notable matches include Daystar Falcons hosting Mombasa SC at Athi River, and the JKUAT Cougars heading to Kakamega’s Bull Ring to face Western Bulls.

Nationwide Fixtures Across Divisions

Rugby enthusiasts will also enjoy action in the Nationwide League across Nairobi Universities, Central, Rift Valley, Western, Nyanza, and Coast divisions. From Presbyterian University taking on KCA University to Egerton Wasps battling Molo RFC, each game promises its own unique excitement.

For rugby fans at the coast, Kilifi RC faces NYS Eagles, while Gede RFC squares off against Jackals at Gede Primary. In the Western division, Shamberere National Polytechnic hosts Sigalagala National Polytechnic, ensuring that every corner of the country enjoys the spirit of rugby.
