Kioni: Gachagua is working with President Ruto ahead of 2027

The cracks in the ‘United Opposition’ seems to be widening after Jubilee Party Secretary-General Jeremiah Kioni made damning allegations against the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) Leader Rigathi Gachagua.

According to Kioni, Gachagua is secretly working with President William Ruto, in one of the most high-profile schemes to hoodwink Kenyans in the 2027 Presidential Election.

Kioni told TV47’s Abubakar Abdullahi on Monday, September 29 night that Gachagua met leaders in Narok County on and around 17th September 2025, where he revealed the plan he has with President Ruto.

The meeting, Kioni says, was meant to explain why the DCP Party was denying Joshua Ole Kaputa a ticket to vie in the upcoming Narok Township Ward By-election.

“On 17th of September 2025. Gachagua told one Dr. Joshua from Narok Town that ‘unajua mimi niko na Kenya kwa mikono yangu’. Joshua wanted a DCP certificate to run for MCA elections. He was actually the preferred candidate but he was told the certificate does not belong to him but someone else.

“Gachagua then told them that he had received emissaries from William Ruto na ameniambia, ‘wewe kusanya watu wako na mimi nisanye watu wangu. Tutakutana na tugawe hii keki’. So he told Joshua to relax and he will nominate him,” Kioni said.

During the interview, Kioni maintained that Jubilee as a party was part of the United Opposition, although he was quick to point out that it was an informal arrangement.

“We [Jubilee] are part of the United Opposition in their informal way, because for now it is not a formal grouping. There is no legal document that is binding us. We just heard Kalonzo Musyoka saying technically he is in Azimio Coalition,” Kioni noted.

He also underscored that Jubilee Party willwork with like-minded parties in the 2027 General Election, with a mission of unseating President Ruto.
