The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) has allayed fears of Kenyans about structures erected along Kenyatta Avenue in Nairobi.
In a statement, KURA says that the structures are part of a temporary hoarding wall, that is meant to enhance safety during ongoing works along the busy road.
“Due to the project’s complexity, public safety is key. Kindly disregard any misleading information,” KURA assures Kenyans.
KURA confirmed, on Thursday, July 24, that construction had resumed on the Valley Road–Kenyatta Avenue/Ngong Road/Nyerere Road Interchange to upgrade the key Nairobi City stretch.
Likewise, construction had officially began along Upper Hill–Haile Selassie Overpass and the associated road network upgrades, KURA added.
“We thank you for your continued patience as we Transform Urban Mobility.”
The Authority on Friday, July 25 released an artistic impression of what it is trying to achieve on the Valley Road–Kenyatta Avenue/Ngong Road/Nyerere Road Interchange, the Upper Hill–Haile Selassie Overpass, & the associated road network upgrades project.
