Safaricom Plc has announced that M-Pesa services will be temporarily unavailable on Monday, September 22, to pave way for system upgrade.
In a notice to the public, the telco giants say the system upgrade has been scheduled to start at 12:30 am to 3:30 am.
“During the maintenance, all M-PESA services including airtime purchase shall be temporarily unavailable,” Safaricom says. “The timing of this maintenance activity has been planned to result in minimal inconvenience to our customers.”
According to Safaricom, the system upgrade is vital for the 18-year M-Pesa infrastructure, in a bid to offer safe, secure, and worry-free financial products and services.
“We apologize for any inconvenience that may be caused and thank you for your continued support.”
