Mbadi warns Linda Mwananchi leaders against chaos in Nyanza

‎Nyanza leaders aligned to the broad-based government, led by Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi, have warned leaders of the Linda Mwananchi movement against visiting the region with intentions of causing chaos.

‎Speaking during a church service at St. Joseph’s Catholic Parish in Tonga, Suba South Constituency, Mbadi took issue with recent remarks by Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, who reportedly vowed to ensure that Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma is not re-elected in the 2027 General Election.

‎Mbadi dared Babu Owino and Siaya Governor James Orengo to test their political popularity in Homa Bay, insisting that the county’s political direction would be determined by its residents.

‎The former ODM chairman further declared that leaders supporting the broad-based government would mobilize voters in Homa Bay County to back President William Ruto in the next General Election.

‎Migori Governor Ochilo Ayacko echoed Mbadi’s sentiments, saying political leaders should not visit communities to provoke chaos and still expect a warm reception from residents.

‎Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi also weighed in, accusing Governor Orengo of working against the interests of the Luo community. Sudi urged the veteran politician to retire from active politics and allow the community to benefit from its participation in government.

‎The remarks come amid heightened political tensions in the Nyanza region, where rival leaders continue to clash over the region’s political future and alliances ahead of the 2027 elections.
