Egyptian sensation Mohamed Salah has cemented his place among the Premier League’s all-time greats, winning the prestigious Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Player of the Year award for a record third time.
The Liverpool forward’s phenomenal season was recognized by his peers, a testament to his unparalleled consistency and match-winning influence.
Salah’s remarkable 2024-25 campaign saw him lead the Premier League in both goals and assists. His 29 goals and 18 assists were instrumental in Liverpool’s triumphant league campaign, which saw them clinch the title a full ten points ahead of their closest rivals, Arsenal.

This incredible output meant the 33-year-old became the first player ever to sweep all three major individual accolades in the same season, adding the PFA prize to his earlier Premier League Player of the Season, Golden Boot, and Playmaker awards.
This latest honour follows his previous successes in 2018 and 2022, placing him ahead of legendary two-time winners such as Thierry Henry and Cristiano Ronaldo.
The award, voted for by players from across the Premier League and Football League, saw Salah triumph over a strong field that included teammate Alexis Mac Allister, Declan Rice, Alexander Isak, Bruno Fernandes, and Cole Palmer.
The awards ceremony also celebrated other standout performers from the season. Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers was named Young Player of the Year for the men’s game, while Arsenal’s Mariona Caldentey was crowned the Women’s Player of the Year after an impressive debut season with the club.
On the women’s side, Canadian star Olivia Smith, who recently made a groundbreaking move to Arsenal for a reported £1 million, took home the Young Player of the Year award.
Salah’s achievement caps off a season that saw him commit his future to Liverpool by signing a new contract, ending speculation about a move to the Saudi Pro League.
His influence was further highlighted by the PFA Premier League Team of the Year, which featured four of his Liverpool teammates.
The final XI showcased the best of the league, with players from Liverpool, Arsenal, Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth, and Newcastle United making the cut.
