Nairobi is turning up the heat this Jamhuri weekend as the Nairobi Festival bounces back to Uhuru Park from December 12–14, promising what may be the biggest city celebration ever staged by the County Government. Expect colour, flavour, music, and non-stop energy as the capital transforms into a playground of culture and creativity.
Under the vibrant theme “Experience the Vibe of the City,” festivalgoers will be treated to a power-packed lineup, The Nairobi Street Food Festival with sizzling local favourites, High-energy DOBA performances, The electrifying Dunda Music Stage, Live art walls and installations, A fun-filled kids’ zone, And fireworks every single night to crown the festivities.
But stealing the show this year is the 2025 BEBA Awards, hosted in partnership with FEDCO, bringing the fiercest gathering of Nairobi’s legendary nganyas and senkes. Expect chrome, LEDs, booming sound systems and jaw-dropping artwork as crews compete for the crown in what is tipped to be the largest matatu showdown ever witnessed in the capital.





Governor Johnson Sakaja has called on Nairobians to show up in style and numbers: “Tukutane Nairobi Festival hii Jamhuri Day weekend. Karibuni!”
To keep the event accessible, entry fees remain pocket-friendly – children: KSh50, adults: KSh100
Tickets are available via USSD *647#, with gate sales offered though no cash will be accepted.
The festival will run daily from 10am till late, with the special BEBA Awards showcase lighting up the stage on December 12 from 4pm–7pm. And adding even more spark, the Coca-Cola Caravan will roll into Uhuru Park on Saturday as it wraps its nationwide tour.
This year’s edition aims to deliver a safe, family-friendly, culture-packed celebration, giving Nairobians a space to honour the city they love and turn Jamhuri Day Weekend into an unforgettable urban festival experience.
