Nairobi United were officially crowned champions of the 2024/25 FKF National Super League on Saturday, June 14 after edging out MOFA 1-0 in a tightly contested match at the Jomo Kenyatta Stadium in Kisumu.
The decisive goal came in the 65th minute, capping off a dominant season for the Nairobi-based side, who had already secured promotion to the FKF Premier League weeks earlier.
David Njoroge, Chairman of the Sakaja Foundation— the club’s principal sponsor and owner—congratulated the team on their remarkable achievement.

The Sakaja Foundation remains committed to sponsoring the club, supporting continued success, and nurturing youth talent across the country,” said Njoroge.
Nairobi United sealed promotion to the top-flight league last weekend with a 2–1 comeback victory over 3K FC at Dandora Stadium. Despite trailing early to a Ronald Karenwa strike in the 12th minute, United equalized through Frank Ouya just before halftime. Ouya went on to score the winner in the 78th minute, guaranteeing the club’s place in next season’s FKF Premier League.
That victory propelled the team to 66 points—11 clear of second-placed APS Bomet—making them mathematically uncatchable with just three fixtures remaining.
Under the guidance of head coach Nicholas Muyoti, the club has delivered an outstanding campaign: 19 wins, 9 draws, and only 4 losses. They have scored 48 goals and conceded just 22, boasting one of the best defensive records in the league.
“We are aiming for the top. This win means a lot to us, and we’re ready to achieve even more,” said head coach Muyoti.
Originally founded in 2015 as Balaji EPZ FC, the club was rebranded to Nairobi United FC in 2022. A major turning point came in September 2024, when Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja—through the Sakaja Foundation—acquired the team and pledged to revamp its structure through youth investment, infrastructure development, and strategic recruitment.
Since then, Nairobi United has grown into one of the most promising football projects in the country. Their ambitions go beyond league promotion—they have also secured a place in the semi-finals of the FKF Cup after defeating top-tier side Kakamega Homeboyz 2–0 in the quarterfinals.
As they prepare for life in the Premier League, the club’s leadership remains focused on long-term sustainability and continued success both on and off the pitch.
