Police in Nakuru County have arrested nine notorious suspects linked to a spate of mobile phones snatching incidents in the area.
The suspects were arrested during an intelligence-led operation, initiated following reports made by victims, conducted in Shoppers Paradise and Sokoni areas of Kaptembwa.
Authorities say that the operation targeted criminals involved in the theft of mobile phones, as well as individuals suspected of selling or facilitating distribution of stolen devices.

The suspects were arrested with several assorted mobile phones and electronic equipment in their possession, believed to be used for flashing and altering mobile phone IMEI numbers.
The seized items included flashing cables, specialised software devices, and other accessories suspected to facilitate the illegal alteration of mobile phone identification details.
The officers also recovered a total of sixteen rolls of bhang from the suspects.
“The operation underscores the commitment of law enforcement to disrupt networks that profit from petty crime and to safeguard members of the public from its consequences,” the National Police Service says.
