Siaya Senator Oburu Oginga provided a much-needed comic relief during the State Funeral Service of his brother, the late Raila Odinga, after going off script to introduce his wives.
After concluding his heartfelt tribute to his brother, Oburu — who was picked as the acting ODM Party Leader a day after Raila’s death — pleaded with the event planners to excuse him so that he can introduce his ‘better halves’.
Oburu said that if he failed to introduce them during the event, then he will die of ‘hunger’.

“I want to inform you that I am also with my wives. I am a general I have two of them. If I don’t introduce them to you, they might feel jealous and refuse to give me food,” Oburu pleaded, much to the delight of thousands of mourners who erupted in cheers at a fully-packed Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi.
Oburu has two wives, Dr Anne Ayoo Oburu and Judith Oburu, and he did not mince his words when using a metaphor to describe their importance in his life. And they are ladies of pedigree too!

“My elder wife Dr. Anne Ayoo Oburu is here…This is the lady who took me out of boyhood. She is a doctor, she is a peadriatician, and she is the one with whom we grew together. But I thought at my age, I don’t want her to scratch me, I don’t want her to massage me, so I brought her helper, Judith Oburu. Judith Oburu here works with NSSF, and she is also an accountant by profession.”
