ODM National Chairperson and Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga has urged leaders allied to the Linda Mwananchi faction to conduct their political activities with respect and decency, warning that reckless statements could fuel violence.

‎Speaking during a Sunday service in Ndhiwa Constituency, Wanga took issue with recent remarks by Siaya Governor James Orengo during a political gathering in Oyugis, calling on him and other leaders to respect women and recognize that they deserve equal dignity.

‎The governor said political leaders must avoid making provocative and careless statements, noting that such utterances could incite young people and trigger violence.
‎
‎Wanga also condemned the violence witnessed in Migori on Saturday, describing the incidents as unfortunate and unnecessary.

She called for political tolerance and urged youths not to allow themselves to be used to cause chaos.

‎The ODM chairperson stressed that political competition should be based on ideas and policies rather than insults, provocation and violence.
