Police officers from Bomet Police Station have seized 249 rolls of suspected cannabis sativa following a night ambush in Chemomul Village, Bomet Central Sub-county, after two suspects abandoned their motorcycle and fled into the darkness upon being challenged by officers.

Acting on a tip-off from members of the public, officers conducted a coordinated ambush and intercepted a red Boxer 100 motorcycle carrying a rider, a pillion passenger, and a suspicious sack.

When ordered to stop, the two suspects abandoned the motorcycle and its cargo and fled the scene.

A search of the abandoned sack revealed the 249 rolls of suspected cannabis sativa.

Both the narcotics and the motorcycle, registration number KMGX 534N, have been secured as exhibits, while a manhunt is underway to apprehend the fleeing suspects.
