President William Ruto Monday, October 27 afternoon handed over keys to new home owners who will now become the third lot to benefit from the Affordable Housing Program.
Located in Elburgon, Molo Constituency, Nakuru County, the Estate has 220 housing units comprising 9 blocks of G+4, supporting an estimated 1,500 residents.
James Munga, a beneficiary who applied for a two bedroom house, lauded the initiative saying “in the beginning I was hesitant and not sure if I should apply but when I saw the project coming up I didn’t waste time. Now I am new home owner through Boma Yangu.”
He lauded the President for keeping his promise to provide decent and affordable housing for Kenyans even as he urged politicians to keepp off the projects saying they should instead support the Government to deliver on its mandate.

His sentiments were echoed by Martha Maina who is the proud owner of a studio unit. Martha, a public health assistant, said the idea of rent to own is what swayed her to register on Boma Yangu.
She said the program provides Kenyans with an opportunity to be home owners at even at a young age.
The estate comes complete with other essential amenities such as parking spaces, garbage receptacles, boundary wall, underground water tank, green spaces, drive and walk ways, security lights and a borehole to ensure sufficent water supply.
Construction commenced in September 2023 following a partnership with Top Choice surveillance limited and has taken about two years to complete.
During construction, an estimated 1000 locals were engaged in construction works directly and indirectly, providing a livelihood for the youth and women from Elburgon town.
The local Jua Kali artisans were enaged for major steel works such as making doors, windows and rails on-site as the project linked the micro, small and medium enterprises with the jua kali sector.
Housing PS Charles Hinga said the 220 units comprise 60 Studio Units, 20 one Bedroom Units, 120 two Bedroom Units and 20 three Bedroom Unit and creates a sustainable, self-reliant neighbourhood where residents live, work and play.
