The adrenaline is building in Nakuru as the stage is set for the 2025 Prinsloo Sevens, the highly anticipated second leg of the National Sevens Circuit.
Following a thrilling opener at the Driftwood 7s, teams are confirmed and ready to battle it out at the Nakuru Athletic Club this coming weekend, August 2nd and 3rd.
Hosts Nakuru RFC will headline Pool A, where they face a challenging draw against formidable opponents: Kenya Harlequin, the reigning overall champions of the National 7s Circuit, Stallions, and MSC Rugby. The Wanyore will be looking to leverage home advantage and make a strong statement on their turf.
Pool B features the defending Prinsloo champions, Strathmore Leos. They will undoubtedly face stiff competition from Menengai Oilers, Daystar Falcons, and Zetech Oaks, who have stepped up to Division One after their impressive performance in Division Two at the Driftwood 7s.
Fresh off their triumph at the Driftwood 7s in Mombasa, KCB RFC headline Pool C. The Bankers, keen to maintain their dominant run in the circuit, will contend with Nondescripts, CUEA, and Kisumu RFC. All eyes will be on KCB to see if they can extend their winning streak.
Finally, Pool D promises explosive encounters with Kabras Sugar RFC leading the charge. The “Sugarmen” will be eager to rebound after a slower start to the series in Mombasa, and will need to navigate through tough opposition from MMUST, Impala RFC, and Mwamba RFC.
With the pools now confirmed, rugby enthusiasts are assured of another action-packed weekend.
The Prinsloo Sevens promises to be a crucial leg in shaping the overall standings of the 2025 Sportpesa National Sevens Circuit, as teams vie for supremacy and valuable points towards the coveted national title.
