Digital creator Pritty Vishy has hit back at fans over what she terms as exaggerated reactions to the separation of comedian Timothy Kimani popularly known as Njugush and his wife Celestine Ndinda alias Wakavinye.
In a strongly worded Instagram story, Pritty questioned why many Kenyans appeared unable to accept the couple’s decision, suggesting that public expectations around celebrity marriages can be unrealistic.
“It’s just funny how Kenyans are acting up on Njugush and Cele’s divorce,” she wrote, adding, “So wasiachane juu nyinyi hamtaki ama hamu-believe that they should or can divorce??”
She went on to criticize the pressure placed on couples to maintain a perfect image, warning that such expectations can trap people in unhealthy relationships.

“Hizi expectations zenu ndo zinafanya watu wengi wasitoke kwa toxic marriage… but wakiwa wawili ni vita, one cheating, one being unhappy,” she stated.
Pritty further argued that reconciliation should not be forced by public opinion.
“Ati wareconcile tu juu because of them I believe in marriage… so wareconcile juu yako wambirianga!?” she posed, insisting that personal decisions should be respected. “Let them do that if they see any need of that, not because of people.”
Her remarks come after Njugush publicly confirmed that he and Ndinda had parted ways, ending months of speculation about their relationship.
In a statement, the comedian emphasized that the decision was mutual and carefully considered. “Last year we made a decision to part ways after much thought and with mutual respect,” he said.
Despite the separation, he reassured fans that their family remains intact in other ways. “We have been co-parenting, and our children remain our top priority,” he added, while appealing for privacy as they adjust to the new chapter.

The couple, widely admired for their chemistry and online content, had built a strong fanbase over the years.
Their split has sparked widespread debate, with many expressing shock while others, like Pritty Vishy, are calling for a more balanced and respectful response.
