Businessman Kennedy Rapudo has come out strongly to defend his partner Amber Ray over criticism surrounding her club hosting gigs, particularly her dressing and presence in nightlife spaces.
Rapudo maintained that Amber has remained consistent in who she is, long before their relationship began.
“When I met Amber Ray she was hosting and Amber has always dressed like that,” he said,
shutting down claims that her lifestyle changed after they got together. He emphasized that her club hosting is part of her brand and appeal, adding,
“She’s a vibe, has many fans and she is beautiful.”
While he avoided disclosing exact figures, Rapudo hinted at her standing in the industry, stating,
“I don’t wanna say how much she gets paid but I think she is the highest paid club host in Kenya… she is amongst the highest paid host if not.”
He further dismissed misconceptions about what club hosting entails, clarifying that Amber’s role is often misunderstood.
According to him, “she just shows up for the vibes… says hi to people and goes home,” pushing back against narratives that paint her work negatively.
Rapudo also pointed out what he termed as double standards in how society judges women, comparing the backlash Amber receives to how global stars are perceived.
“If it’s someone like Nicki Minaj or Rihanna wears that there is no problem, why is it that when Amber Ray does that there is a problem?” he said.
On their relationship dynamics, Rapudo made it clear that he fully supports Amber and does not interfere with her personal or financial independence.
“A woman’s money is a woman’s money,” he stated,
adding that he handles his responsibilities as a man without imposing control. He noted that Amber contributes to the household out of her own will, saying he has no issue with that.
The businessman also opened up about their blended family, revealing that they are raising four children together two from his previous relationship, one from Amber, and one they share. He emphasized that they live as one unit and have created a healthy environment for all the children.
He concluded by saying that beyond what is seen online, Amber is a businesswoman involved in multiple ventures, and their life together is structured in a way that works for them and not for public validation.
