Road safety ambassador disappointed in Bahati for sucking on Diana B’s toes while driving

Musician Kevin Bahati and his wife, Diana Marua, are facing massive backlash after sharing a video celebrating their ninth wedding anniversary that showcases multiple instances of extreme, recklessness while driving.

In the video circulated across social media has drawn a sharp and critical response from a road safety ambassador operating the Skika ROAD Safety, who issued a public plea to the couple to immediately correct their dangerous behaviour.

The ambassador highlighted several violations, warning that the couple’s quest for viral content could easily turn into a tragedy.

The road safety ambassador, who claims seven years of service and has witnessed thousands of crash fatalities, detailed the six severe infractions displayed by Bahati and Diana while driving at night:

  1. Improper Use of Steering Wheel: Bahati was filmed removing Diana’s high-heeled shoe and placing it on the steering wheel, obstructing his ability to turn and potentially blocking the airbag.
  2. Obstruction of Driver: Diana had placed both of her legs directly on Bahati’s thighs while he was driving, physically obstructing his control of the vehicle.
  3. Extreme Physical Distraction: The video reportedly included an act where Bahati was shown engaging with Diana’s toe while attempting to drive.
  4. No Seatbelts: Both Bahati and Diana were filmed without wearing seatbelts, violating a fundamental traffic law that is the single most effective way to prevent death in a crash.
  5. Lack of Concentration: Due to the physical interactions, both occupants were visibly not concentrating on the road, increasing reaction time to hazards.
  6. Night Driving Risk: The reckless acts were performed at night, when visibility is already reduced, multiplying the danger of a collision.

A Stark Warning: “Distracted Driving is Dangerous”

In a direct address to Bahati, the ambassador form Sikika stressed the grave consequences of their actions, pointing out that their fame does not exempt them from physics or the law:

  • Distracted Driving: The cumulative acts constitute Distracted Driving, which is as dangerous as crossing a continuous yellow line. “You are putting your life at risk, including that of your wife,” the ambassador warned.
  • Risk to Public: Their behaviour is not just a private matter; it risks the lives of innocent Kenyans on the road. With over 4,000 people dying annually in Kenya due to road accidents, this kind of recklessness is directly contributing to a national crisis.
  • The Crash Impact: The ambassador reminded the couple that in the event of a crash, “It does not matter the vehicle you are driving… the impact will kill the both of you or get serious permanent injuries.”

The final message to the high-profile couple was clear and concise: “Remember road safety is a collective responsibility.”

The desire to enjoy life or create viral content must never supersede the basic rules designed to protect every human life on Kenyan roads.
