The Siyad Foundation has sponsored school teams participating in the Kenya Senior Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) Term II Regional Championships set to be held in Takaba, Mandera County. The sponsorship was announced during a breakfast meeting hosted by the Foundation in Wajir, bringing together school principals, coaches, referees, KSSSA officials, KESSHA and KUPPET representatives, as well as other sports stakeholders.

Speaking during the meeting, the Foundation’s CEO and founder, Hajji Siyad Abdalla, said the initiative is part of the Foundation’s long-standing commitment to supporting young people through sports. He noted that since 2016, the Foundation has invested in school games and community tournaments to identify and nurture talent while creating opportunities for young athletes to excel.

Wajir Girls High School Principal Madam Rahma commended the Foundation for its continued support, saying the sponsorship would ease the financial burden on schools and motivate students to perform well at the regional championships. She said such partnerships play a key role in promoting education and sports development.

Hon. D.M. Amin Girls Secondary School Principal Mr. Alibash Mohamed also lauded the initiative, describing it as a timely intervention that demonstrates the importance of collaboration between community organizations and learning institutions. He urged other well-wishers to support programmes that empower young people through sports.

During the event, coaches whose teams emerged victorious in the county championships were recognized for their dedication, while the winning schools received complete sports kits from the Siyad Foundation. School heads, coaches, referees, KSSSA officials, KESSHA and KUPPET representatives, together with other sports stakeholders, attended the meeting ahead of the regional championships in Takaba.
