Starlets WAFCON journey gains momentum with Zambia Four Nations assignment

Harambee Starlets have intensified their preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) through the Four Nations Tournament in Zambia, a key part of their build-up to the continental showpiece in Morocco.

Head coach Beldine Odemba has assembled a balanced squad comprising experienced internationals and promising young talents as Kenya seeks to fine-tune its preparations ahead of the tournament.

The team entered camp before travelling to Zambia, where they are scheduled to face Zimbabwe and hosts Zambia in what are expected to be highly competitive matches.

The tournament provides an important opportunity for the technical bench to assess player combinations, tactical systems and the overall strength of the squad against quality opposition.

Several experienced players have returned to the national team fold, boosting the squad as Kenya continues its efforts to build a competitive team capable of challenging some of Africa’s top sides.

Beyond the results, the matches will help the Starlets improve match fitness, strengthen team chemistry and gain valuable experience in high-intensity international competition

Having secured qualification for WAFCON 2026, Kenya is determined to make a strong impression in Morocco, with the Zambia tournament viewed as a crucial step in building momentum and ensuring the team is fully prepared for the challenges ahead.
