The TV47 relaunch on April 11, 2026 attracted millions of fans in Nairobi and other towns and trading centres across the country as they interacted with crews from TV47 and Radio 47.
Celebrations filled the air, as Cape Media management and stakeholders joined staff and TV47 fans in marking the milestone for the TV station.
The re-launch coincided with the unveiling of new TV programs and a major reshuffle of news anchors and show hosts in a move aimed at improving efficiency and better service delivery to the audience.
In Nairobi CBD, Alex Mwakideu and Emmanuel Mwashumbe of Radio 47 led the Cape media teams in unveiling the new TV47. The event attracted crowds of supporters who were eager to witness a new chapter of TV47, the fastest growing TV station in Kenya.

“TV47 is in Nairobi! Na tayari wamekubali story ni yetu. The vibes, the crowds, the music the people, all wako tayari for the world class launch of TV47. Story Ni Yetu!” said a fan in Nairobi.
The same excitement was witnessed in Eldoret where residents turn up in large numbers to be part of the relaunch.
“The countdown for the shows in Langas Eldoret imeanza! Here are the shows they cannot wait for! Yako ni gani?” said one of the TV47 fans in Eldoret.
“Hype! Hype! Music here, dances there! Very excited to see the new, bold TV47! Hii ni mwecheche!” he added.
Meanwhile, on social media, the hashtag #StoryNiYetu trended as fans engaged with TV47 across all social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok).
“Wapwani njooni tupige story zetu au sio?” shouted one of the fans during an interaction forum in Mombasa, as TV47 Digital journalists interacted with coastal residents.
“Wapwani hallooo! Story ni yetu, si yetu? Baaaas leteni story!”
Elsewhere in Kisumu Town, TV47 was well represented as residents and local leaders turned up to be part of the relaunch.
For Nakuru, residents had an opportunity to interact with Radio 47 and TV47 crew, in the celebrations with songs and energetic dance styles.
At the same time, the relaunch celebrations were witnessed in Machakos as TV47 fans expressed optimism in the revamped station.
In Bungoma, fans expressed hope in the new TV47, saying they were looking forward to better and quality news and content from the channel.
On the same note, Kakamega residents turned up along the streets in Kakamega Town as they showed support for the relaunch.
The same enthusiasm was witnessed in Kitale, Kitui, Makueni, Nyeri, Kiambu, Isiolo, Garissa and across all the 47 counties in the country.
