Suspected thief found with stolen pineapples in Murang’a

Officers from Kenol Police Station in Murang’a County have arrested a suspect found in possession of pineapples believed to have been stolen in the Wempa area, following a tip-off from members of the public.

According to the National Police Service, the officers received information that motorbikes were being used to ferry pineapples suspected to have been stolen in the area.

Acting swiftly on the tip, the officers proceeded to Wempa, where they found the suspect with the produce in question.

Upon spotting the officers, the suspect attempted to flee but was successfully apprehended, and the suspected stolen pineapples were recovered.

The NPS said the operation reflects its continued commitment to protecting agricultural enterprises from criminal activities that threaten the livelihoods of farmers and undermine economic stability in the region.
