Tambach College student among those arrested with stolen laptops, phones and TVs

Police in Tambach area, Elgeyo Marakwet County, have arrested two suspects believed to be behind a spate of thefts within Tambach Teachers Training College.

While acting on a tip-off, officers from Tambach Police Station on Sunday, March 24 raided a rental house in the area and arrested Kelvin Kipruto, a student at the institution, and Faris Kipkemboi.

According to a report seen by TV47 Digital, police searched the house and recovered assorted electronic gadgets believed to have been stolen from students.

“Also recovered during the raid were assorted electronic gadgets including five laptops, six monitors, seven CPUs, four keyboards, one X bass hoofer, one 32′ Itel TV and one solar panel, one jungle shirt and one handcuff,” the police report reads in part.

Three of the seized laptops have since been identified by students who reported theft of their laptops on Friday, March 22.
