Trisha Khalid:Usipate pressure na social media, huku watu hawana pesa!

Actress and content creator Trisha Khalid has a message for Kenyans feeling pressured to live up to the lifestyles they see on social media: Don’t be fooled by online appearances!

In a video shared on Instagram on Friday, October 9, 2026, Trisha cautioned people against comparing their finances, relationships and lifestyles with what others flaunt online, insisting that appearances can be deceiving.

“Usipatiwe pressure na watu social media; huku kila mtu hana pesa. Social media watu hawana pesa jamani,” she said.

Trisha challenged Kenyans to stop judging their financial progress by other people’s online displays of wealth, arguing that social media often shows only what people want the world to see.

She also warned couples against allowing seemingly romantic relationships online to create unnecessary tension in their own relationships.

“Usiwahi kosana na mtu wako just because you’ve seen someone else being treated nice on social media. People are liars; they just want to show you what they want you to see,” she added.

Her remarks highlight the growing pressure to keep up with online displays of expensive gifts, lavish dates, holidays and seemingly perfect relationships.

For some, the desire to match these lifestyles can lead to unnecessary spending, debt and feelings of inadequacy. In relationships, comparing partners to couples online can fuel unrealistic expectations and needless conflict.

Trisha’s message is simple: Don’t ruin your peace, finances or relationship trying to compete with what people post online.
