Two arrested as police chase Toyota Noah ferrying 10 sacks of bhang valued at KSh7.5M from Lari to Machakos

Police have arrested two notorious suspects who were found transporting 250kg of bhang.

Samuel Baraza Nyongesa and Lawrence Onyango Asindi were apprehended at Kitanga Village in Machakos County, and found in possession of the narcotics, concealed in 10 gunny bags.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Nyongesa and Asindi had escaped a dragnet at Lari Flyover in Kiambu County before the anti-drug officers, acting on a tip-off, gave a chase.

The officers successfully intercepted the suspects, driving in a black Toyota Noah (KDN 218A), at Kitanga village, nearly 100 kilometres away.

Upon searching the vehicle, the officers discovered bhang estimated at KSh7.5 million in street value.

The seizure has been detained at DCI Headquarters awaiting further processing even as the suspects await arraignment.
