Two arrested as police track stolen motorcycle from Kakamega to Mudete

Two suspects have been arrested and a stolen motorcycle recovered early Friday morning following a coordinated police operation in Mudete, Vihiga County.

The operation, conducted jointly by officers from Kakamega and Mudete Police Stations, was launched at around 3:00 a.m. after a report of a stolen red Boxer motorcycle (registration number KMFQ 735P) was filed.

According to police sources, the motorcycle was traced to a rental house near Mudete Centre, where it had been hidden. Officers recovered the motorcycle at the scene and took it to Kakamega Police Station for further investigation.

“The motorcycle was positively identified by its rightful owner,” confirmed an officer involved in the operation, “The swift action was made possible by timely intelligence and community cooperation.”

The two male suspects were arrested during the raid and are currently in police custody awaiting formal charges.

The recovery has brought forth relief to the motorcycle’s owner, who had reported the theft just hours before.

Police have further urged residents to remain alert and to report any suspicious activity to the nearest station.
