Police in Bamburi, Mombasa County, say that search and rescue efforts are still ongoing after a septic tank beneath a football viewing hall collapsed on Sunday, April 20.

Currently, no person has been rescued from the collapsed septic tank, neither has any body been recovered.

The Mombasa fire and rescue department, alongside police and other emergency services, are working on the scene.

Mombasa County Commissioner Mohammed Noor says the incident happened at around 6 pm when fans were watching a football match.

Authorities say that the depth of the underground hole where the incident took place is approximately at 120 feet.
