Upper Hill Vs Kisii headline rugby finals at the Brookside secondary school games

The 2026 Brookside Secondary School Games have set the stage for thrilling National Rugby Fifteens finals, with Upper Hill School set to face Kisii School in the boys’ category, while Kinale Girls will take on Saint Joseph’s Kitale Girls in the girls’ final.

Upper Hill School continued their dominant and unbeaten run in the tournament, edging out Kakamega School 12-11 in a tense semifinal clash.

The narrow victory demonstrated Upper Hill’s resilience and composure under pressure, as they held off a determined Kakamega side to secure their place in the final.

In the second semifinal, Kisii School produced a commanding performance to defeat Saint Mary’s Yala 13-3, booking their spot in the championship match. The win also served as sweet revenge for Kisii, who had lost to Yala in last month’s Nyanza Region Rugby Fifteens final.

With both teams maintaining strong form, the boys’ final promises to be a high-intensity encounter as Upper Hill seek to complete their unbeaten campaign, while Kisii aim to crown their redemption story with national glory.

In the girls’ category, Kinale Girls delivered a statement performance, thrashing Mbagathi Girls 49-0 in a one-sided semifinal to confirm their place in the final. Their dominant display underlined their attacking prowess and defensive solidity.

They will face Saint Joseph’s Kitale Girls, who secured their place in the final after a hard-fought 8-5 victory over Mwira Girls in a closely contested semifinal clash.

The girls’ final is expected to be an exciting showdown, pitting Kinale’s high-scoring form against the resilience and tactical discipline of Saint Joseph’s Kitale Girls.
