The plane carrying a delegation of more than 30 Kenyan leaders — led by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi — dispatched to India to facilitate the repatriation of Raila Odinga’s remains back home was the world’s most tracked on Flightradar24.
The flight carrying the delegation, which comprised of senior government officials, politicians and members of the Odinga family, took off at around 6:55 pm at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).


Soon after the take-off at JKIA, THE kqa202 flight to Mumbai was the seconf-most tracked globally on the air traffic tracking service. By 12 midnight, the flight became the most tracked globally, with approximately over 7,000 people monitoring it.
The plane would touch down in Mumbai at around 1 am (EAT) on Thursday. After a two-hour ground time, the plane bearing Raila’s body and the delegation took off for Nairobi at around 3:30am.
According to data from Flightradar24, the KQ203 was being tracked by over 5,000 people.
After reaching the Kenyan airspace, the kq203 flight was renamed to RAO001, a reference of to Raila’s name initials. This was in honour of the departed leader.
The body of the departed leader is currently being escorted to Lee Funeral Home, before being taken to Kasarani International Stadium for public viewing.
On Friday, October 17 from 8am, there will be a state funeral service at Nyayo Stadium. This state funeral service is expected to be attended by dignitaries and VVIPs from outside Kenya. It is a state event and it will be conducted in accordance with the protocols of state events to give respect to the stature of the fallen hero.
Raila will be buried on Sunday, October 19 2025 in Bondo, Siaya County.
