A helicopter crashed near the foot of Mt. Ololokwe in Samburu County on Wednesday, triggering an urgent multi-agency emergency response in the region.

Samburu County Police Commander David Nkoroi confirmed the incident, stating that local residents immediately raised the alarm after witnessing the crash. The alert prompted a swift response from regional security forces and emergency medical teams.

Eyewitnesses at the scene reported seeing a large plume of thick black smoke and intense flames rising from the crash site shortly after the aircraft went down.

At press time, security personnel had not yet reached the precise location of the crash, and the thick smoke continued to billow from the scene.
