A suspect has been arrested in Nakuru County after law enforcement officers raided a homestead in Kiamunyi’s Cottage Estate and uncovered a hidden illicit alcohol operation alongside a loaded firearm magazine and other suspicious items.
Acting on a tip-off, officers descended on the property where they discovered 990 litres of ethanol concealed inside a septic tank within the compound, an apparent attempt to hide the contraband from detection.
A subsequent search of the suspect’s house yielded further alarming finds: a Ceska pistol magazine loaded with 29 rounds of 9mm ammunition, a bulletproof vest, a firearm cleaning kit, two pistol holsters, and assorted materials suspected to have been used in the packaging of counterfeit alcoholic drinks, including branded stickers, bottles, and bottle tops.
The suspect, Geoffrey Muriithi Kerinya, was arrested on the spot and is currently in custody undergoing processing pending arraignment.
All recovered items have been secured as exhibits for use in the ongoing investigation.
